Bulk replenishment and track-full logic prevent overloading the orienting system.

Application · caps & closures
Carry the closure to the capping point in a controlled orientation.
Manage lightweight parts, cosmetic surfaces and nesting tendencies while providing the availability and release condition the downstream machine needs.
Rail and cover geometry manage overlap, lift and nesting.
Track exit coordinated with cap chute, pick, starwheel or placement tooling.
Closure handling
A / 01Lightweight parts can become unstable as the queue fills.
Caps and closures may bounce, stack, overlap or telescope depending on skirt depth, thread, tamper band and top geometry. Controlled rail clearance and accumulation pressure help preserve the accepted presentation.
Cosmetic decoration, liners, seals and dispensing features should be identified so the contact and inspection strategy protects them.
Cap family, colour, liner, decoration and supplier variation should all be represented in the application review.
Typical operations
Linear presentation before the next process.
Automatic capping
Maintain closure orientation and availability before the chute, pick head or placement mechanism.
Liner or seal inspection
Stabilise the closure for suitable presence, colour or feature checks.
Assembly
Feed multi-part dispensing closures or sub-components to a controlled assembly sequence.
Counting & packing
Meter closures into packs or containers with a defined release event.
Application details
Describe the complete closure, not only its diameter.
Two caps with the same outside diameter can behave differently because of skirt height, thread, tamper band, liner and centre of gravity.
- Outside diameter, height and weight
- Thread, skirt, hinge or dispensing feature
- Liner, seal and tamper-evident band
- Decoration and permitted contact surfaces
- Required open/closed or top/bottom orientation
- Capping-machine chute or placement interface
Common questions
Linear feeder questions, answered.
Practical guidance for an early project review. Final design and performance are confirmed against the actual application.
01Can a linear feeder handle flip-top caps?+
Potentially. Hinge position, open or closed state, nesting behaviour and the required capping-machine presentation must be reviewed with production samples.
02Can decorated closures be protected from marking?+
Track contact, surface finish, speed and queue pressure can be selected to reduce marking, but the acceptable cosmetic standard must be defined and trialled.
03How is cap availability controlled?+
Track-full and low-level sensors can coordinate the bowl, elevator or hopper with downstream demand so the queue remains within a stable operating window.
